The Kenya Land Conservation Trust (KLCT) provides an institutional framework to support the development and use of property rights-based mechanisms such as conservation leases, environmental easements and land acquisitions for securing and protecting wildlife habitats.
It aims to work in collaboration with landowners to conserve wildlife habitat across the country, and to test and advance the use of legal and economic mechanisms for habitat conservation. KLCT is well placed to serve as the institutional holder of environmental easements in Kenya and promote the advancement of private land conservation tools.
